ON THE MARQUEE: One of the first set of works for the new season to open on Broadway post pandemic is Tony winner Ruben Santiago Hudson ‘s critically acclaimed one man show LACKAWANNA BLUES. It’s also the first to relaunch Manhattan Theatre Club.
Despite having several performances getting cancelled due to Hudson recovering from a back injury, he is continuing to perform fullout. In addition to all of this, the show has just been extended again now through this Friday, November 12th, 2021.

ON THE MARQUEE: Waitress at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (featuring new leading lady Grammy winner Jennifer Nettles)

ON THE MARQUEE: Nothing like waking up to that delicious taste of BROADWAY’S BACK BLUEBERRY PIE as the current encore engagement of the Tony & Grammy nominated smash hit Waitress the Musical continues to play to packed houses every night.
Most recently, the show just welcomed Grammy Award winner Jennifer Nettles as she continues to play a month long run as pregnant pie maker “Jenna Hunterson”. She continues with the production now through November 24th, 2021.

Following Nettles departure, it was recently announced that the very next day (Thanksgiving), Broadway veteran Ciara Renee will don the blue uniform and white apron as “Jenna”.
This limited engagement revival of WAITRESS continues to run now till January 9th, 2022.

ON THE MARQUEE: Tina: The Tina Turner Musical at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (featuring new leading lady Nkeki Obi-Melekwe)

ON THE MARQUEE: Things once again with Broadway are getting NICE AND ROOOUGH as the Tony winning and Olivier Award nominated smash hit Tina: The Tina Turner Musical is back. Earlier this past week, the show had a very exciting cast change as Nkeki Obi-Melekwe has replaced the show’s OG star Tony winner Adrienne Warren in the titular role.
It also includes a brand new update to the show’s front of house billboards outside of Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Yup, it includes a photo of Nkeki in action rocking out as THE QUEEN OF ROCK N’ ROLL herself.
This is a full circle moment for Nkeki Obi-Melekwe. The newcomer originally replaced Warren in the show’s inaugural London production for a few months. Immediately afterwards, she joined Warren in the Broadway company serving as the alternate performing twice a week. Now, she is main full time star 6 times a week.
Taking over also now from Nkeki as the alternate is original Ensemble member and Broadway veteran Kayla Davison.

ON THE MARQUEE: Ain’t Too Proud at the Imperial Theatre

ON THE MARQUEE: It truly is not JUST YOUR IMAGINATION. It’s real. The Tony and Grammy winning smash hit Ain’t Too Proud is back on Broadway. The show (about the rise and fame with the greatest hits of The Temptations) is playing to packed houses every night.
With the show’s return, there has been some updates to the front of house billboards outside AIN’T TOO PROUD’s home at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre. It now includes a brand new promo photo of the show’s current Broadway Temptations themselves consisting of….

ON THE MARQUEE: MIC CHECK! One of the hottest tickets back on the Great Bright Way is the encore Broadway engagement return of Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s acclaimed and Special Tony winning improv hip hop group Freestyle Love Supreme (preme, preme, preme, preme). ON THE MARQUEE: Clyde’s at the Hayes at Second Stage Theatre

ON THE MARQUEE: One of the hottest and tastiest new comedies that just begun on Broadway is Lynn Nottage‘s CLYDE’S starring Emmy winners Uzo Aduba and Ron Cephas Jones. It’s also the first show kicking off the brand new season of Second Stage Theater.
