Dear Theater World,

Today is going to be a bittersweet, difficult, and emotional day as Ben Platt ends his incredible 3 year journey as the title role in the Award winning smash hit Dear Evan Hansen which he received the Tony Award for Best Performance By A Leading Actor in a Musical. Platt (already known for his work at the time for his roles in Pitch Perfect and The Book of Mormon on Broadway) has been with the show since the very beginning from the early readings and workshops along with the world premiere productions at Arena Stage, Off Broadway at Second Stage Theater, and in our very own Broadway backyard at the Music Box Theatre. Following his final bow, he will be heading to the studio going hard at work on his first ever solo album from Atlantic Records plus more Film, TV, and hopefully a return to Broadway soon.

Beginning this Tuesday night, The Real O’Neals star Noah Galvin will put on the blue stripped shirt and arm cast as he takes over the title role of “Evan Hansen” for a strictly limited engagement through January 2018 before Hello, Dolly on Broadway’s Taylor Trensch will continue full time from there.

Ben Platt will be missed. Special thank you to him for presenting one of the most powerful, emotional, and haunting performances of the year, lending your voice to those who don’t feel like they don’t belong, and reminding us that WE WILL BE FOUND. We will miss seeing you WAVING THROUGH A WINDOW at all of us. BRAVO!! Happy Trails

WE <3 BEN PLATT & CANNOT WAIT FOR NOAH & TAYLOR TO CONTINUE TO HONOR YOU & MAKE THE ROLE THEIR VERY OWN.
