BREAKING NEWS: Get ready to rock out as the new musical Gettin’ The Band Back Together is set to hit Broadway in the 2018-2019 season.

It will play Broadway’s Belasco Theatre in 2018 (currently home to Michael Moore’s solo show THE TERMS OF MY SURRENDER and soon to be Farinelli and the King on Broadway (starring Mark Rylance) both limited engagement productions). No date has been officially been announced for the start of GETTIN’ THE BAND BACK TOGETHER with previews or opening night).

GETTIN’ THE BAND BACK TOGETHER previously had it’s world premiere run at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ in 2013. It tells the story of a 40-year old Mitch Shapiro, who just moved back to his mother?s house (in Sayreville, NJ) after losing a job (on Wall Street). While unemployed, he reconnects with some of his old High School bandmates to enter a Battle of the Bands competition.

The show will feature a book by Ken Davenport (who will also produce), In addition, the performance group Grundleshotz helped create the show through a series of jam sessions with Mark Allen doing majority of the score, and Sarah Saltzberg (a member of Grundleshotz) provided some additional music. The show will be directed by Tony Award winner John Rando (Urinetown and the recent revival of On The Town – The Musical Comedy Classic)
