FOLLOW THIS!!! Additional full casting and Broadway start dates have been announced for the upcoming The Cher Show. The lineup also announced the additional 2 actresses who will play the legendary singer and actress that is Cher during various stages of her life.
Joining the previously 2 time Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block (Broadway’s WICKED The Musical, The Boy From Oz, The Pirate Queen, 9 to 5: The Musical, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and last seen in Falsettos on Broadway) as the “Star Cher” (her time becoming the “Diva” we all know in love) will include….
Teal Wicks (Broadway’s WICKED The Musical, Jekyll & Hyde The Musical, and last seen in Finding Neverland – The New Musical) as the “Lady Cher” (the 70’s era),
and newcomer Micaela Diamond as the “Baby Cher” (her early years as a teenager leaving home and the Sonny Bono era)
The cast will also include….
Tony nominee Jarrod Spector (Broadway’s Beautiful – The Carole King Musical and Jersey Boys) as “Sonny Bono”, Cher’s famous partner and first husband,
Tony Award nominee Michael Berresse (Broadway’s A Chorus Line) as Bob Mackie, Cher’s legendary costume designer (FUN FACT: The real Bob Mackie is also designing the actual costumes for this show),
Matthew Hydzik (It Shoulda Been You on Broadway, Side Show on Broadway, and recently on the National Tour of If/Then Musical) as “Gregg Allman”, acclaimed singer/songwriter and Cher’s 2nd short lived husband,
Tony nominee Emily Skinner (original Side Show on Broadway and last seen in Prince of Broadway) as “Georgia Holt”, Cher’s mother,
and a full Ensemble.
THE CHER SHOW will have it’s world premiere run in Chicago at the Oriental Theatre starting June 12th, 2018 for a limited 5 week run. From there, it will then officially hit the Great White Way this upcoming Fall 2018 playing Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre (currently home of the limited run revival of Angels in America on Broadway). Previews begin November 1st, 2018 and Opening Night set for December 3rd, 2018.
