BREAKING NEWS: Merle Dandridge is set to return to the 8 time Tony nominated revival of Once On This Island Broadway next month. The actress (known from Broadway’s Rent and Tarzan along with TV’s Greenleaf on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network) will return to the role (she originated in this revival) of the wicked “Papa Ge: The Goddess of Death” for a strictly limited engagement from June 18th, 2018 – August 19th, 2018 at Circle in the Square Theatre.
The show’s current “Papa Ge” American Idol favorite Tamyra Gray (who initially was temporary filling for Dandridge will she was filming Season 3 of Greenleaf) will take a leave of absence this summer but will return August 20th, 2018.

The producers of Broadway’s Once On This Island announced today that Merle Dandridge will return to the Tony Nominated production for a limited time from June 18 – August 19. Current cast member Tamyra Gray will return as Papa Ge on August 20.
