FIRST LOOK: Earlier a few weeks ago, this year’s Tony winning revival of Once On This Island Broadway just had an exciting cast change lineup at Circle in the Square Theatre…

Broadway veteran Darlesia Cearcy (who originally appeared in the Ensemble for this production) replaced Tony and Oliver Award winner Lea Salonga as the angelic “Erzulie The Goddess of Love”.

In addition, original cast memberMerle Dandridge returned the production for a strictly limited engagement through August 19th, 2018 reprising her role as the wicked “Papa Ge: The Goddess of Death”.

Dandridge was out from ONCE ON THIS ISLAND since January 7 to film the 3rd season of her TV show Greenleaf. Throughout the time of Dandridge filming, American Idol’s Tamyra Gray took over the role of “Papa Ge”. Gray is scheduled to return to the production on August 20th, 2018.
