Last night, the company of Pretty Woman: The Musical presented a very special tribute to the late Gary Marshall who passed away 2 years ago. During the curtain call at the Nederlander Theatre, the musical’s director Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, producer Paula Wagner, and the Marshall family took the stage for special speeches in honor of this legendary director, producer, writer, and actor.

Garry Marshall directed and co-write the original 1990 film version of PRETTY WOMAN. His dialogue is heard in the book of the musical adaptation every night. He is also well known for directing other big hit films including BEACHES, RUNNAWAY BRIDE, and THE PRINCESS DIARIES. In addition, it was reported that the film’s original leading lady Oscar winner Julia Roberts. was in the audience of the musical version as well as well.
