Dear Broadway Fans,

Today is going to an amazing but bittersweet day as the company of Dear Evan Hansen says farewell to another original cast member… Rachel Bay Jones.

The actress (who also appeared at the Music Box in the last revival of Pippin the Musical) has been with the show since its early incarnations of readings, workshops, and its world premiere runs (in Washington D.C., Off Broadway, and Broadway) which led her to winning the Tony Award for her emotional performance as struggling single mother “Heidi”. She leaves for upcoming film and TV projects.

Beginning this Tuesday night, August 7th, 2018, Broadway veteran Lisa Brescia (last seen on the Great White Way as “Donna” in Mamma Mia!) will take over the role of “Heidi” from Jones at the Music Box Theatre.

With Jones departure, 2 original cast members remain with the production… Tony nominee Jennifer Laura Thompson and Michael Parks.

We are wishing Rachel Bay Jones a wonderful final performance. You will be missed and GOOD FOR YOU with all the new projects you have lined up. Thank you for delivering a very powerful and emotional performance.
