Love Letters On Broadway

Love letters by A.R. Gurney

Amada met with Nelle Nugent?(?The Trip to Bountiful? in 2013) the lead producer of Love Letter’s for her thoughts about WHY she produced Love Letters. The sound quality is not that good so we have transcribed what she said in the video. Please enjoy and then GO SEE IT! They even have special ticket offers for people who want to see the many different cast members!

About Love Letters:

A.R. Gurney?s ?Love Letters,? is a simple yet dynamic story about a 50-year correspondence between the artistic Melissa Gardner and her more conservative childhood friend Andrew Makepeace Ladd III.

Although the play is told by actors reading from the stage do not let the lack of pizzazz deter you. This show has amazingly brilliant compassion and understanding about friendship and love.

The play, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1990 originally premiered in a library (of all places!) and quickly found it’s way into the hearts of millions around the world.

Actors have flocked to “Love Letters” both when it was on Broadway and Off-Broadway because it’s a fantastic story that also works well with their very limited availability.

Previous performers have included John Rubinstein and Stockard Channing, Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst, and Elaine Stritch and Cliff Robertson. The 2014 limited engagement includes appearances by Mia Farrow, Brian Dennehy, Carol Burnett, Alan Alda, Candice Bergen, Stacy Keach, Diana Rigg, Anjelica Huston and Martin Sheen.

The director is Tony nominee Gregory Mosher (Broadway?s ?A View from the Bridge? in 2009-10).

What are you waiting for? Go fall in LOVE with Love Letters! I know we did.
