57 years ago, one of the greatest novels in American Literature history was published

57 years ago, one of the greatest novels in American Literature history was published and became an immediate success selling over 50 million copies worldwide and is still a popular story told today. It has been translated into a successful film back in 1962 and now it’s making its way as a new play on the Great White Way…. We are talking about Harper Lee’s legendary novel To Kill a Mockingbird.

Adapted as a play by Award winning screenwriter Aaron Sorokin, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is a story of racial injustice and the destruction of childhood innocence. It follows a working lawyer living in the Sothern Depression Era who defends a man of Color against an undeserved rape charge, and his children against prejudice. The story was inspired by Lee’s early childhood.

Under the direction of Tony winner Bartlett Sher, the Broadway Debut of the play adaptation of this iconic story is expecting to feature an exciting ALL STAR CAST consisting of…

Golden Globe and Tony nominee Jeff Daniels in the iconic role of “The deadliest shot in Maycomb County” himself “Atticus Finch”,

Tony nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger in the role of the tomboy (and the story’s narrator) herself “Jean Louise Scout Finch”,

Tony nominee Stark Sands as Horace Gilmer as lawyer “Horace Gilmer”,

Gbenga Akinnagbe in the role of the criminal “Tom Robinson”,

Will Pullen as the brother “Jem Finch”,

Gideon Glick as the smart “Charles Baker “Dill” Harris”,

and many more.

To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway will be coming to the Shubert Theatre (currently the home of the Tony winning revival of Hello, Dolly on Broadway which closes August 25th, 2018. Previews will begin November 1st, 2018 and Opening Night set for December 13th, 2018.

Tickets are on sale both online at the Shubert Theatre Box Office.
