YOU'RE FIRED!!! It has just been announced that due to recent low ticket sales, Sara Bareilles' Tony and Grammy nominated smash hit Waitress the Musical will be CLOSING UP shop at the beginning of 2020. The Broadway production will take it's final bow on January 5th, 2020 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre after a delicious 33 previews and 1,544 regular performances.

Following the final performance, the show will continue to play to packed houses on tour across America, in London's West End, and around the world.

Who thinks this is a BAD IDEA to close a tasty and feel great show?

Kristin Chenoweth Will Invite College Students to Perform in Upcoming Tour | Playbill

Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth is back on the road and about to change the lives of Broadway's future FOR GOOD!! For her new 2019 solo concert tour (which officially launched last night in Los Angeles, California at the historic Hollywood Bowl), the 4'11 Broadway darling is giving back to Performing Arts program with a brand new educational initiative…. PLACES! THE KRISTIN CHENOWETH EXPERIENCE.

For this initiative, Chenoweth will choose some of the luckiest talented students from various schools and conservatories in each city she is performing in by giving them a 101 private coaching session and the chance to share the stage with her for both solos and backing her up on several songs.

Along with the PLACES initiative, Chenoweth will be accompanied by a rotating set of concerts either with just a piano, a small band, and some of the world's reknown symphony orchestras with musical direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell. You can expect to hear her perform a diverse selection of Musical Theater favorites, Great American Songbook standards, and her greatest hits from her worldwide career including hits from WICKED The Musical, Glee, Promises, Promises, her numerous solo albums, and more

Jesse Tyler Ferguson to Join Jesse Williams in Take Me Out on Broadway | Playbill

There's some drama going on AT THE OLD BALLGAME. Later on in this all new 2019-2020 season, Second Stage Theater will present a brand new On Broadway revival of Richard Greenberg's 2003 Tony Award winning Best Play TAKE ME OUT. The production will star Grey's Anatomy favorite Jesse Williams and Stage and Screen favorite Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Under the direction of Tony winner Scott Ellis, the production will play Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre this Spring 2020. Previews will begin April 2nd, 2020 and Opening Night scheduled for April 23rd, 2020.

TAKE ME OUT is drama that takes a full dark behind the scenes look at the personal and professional intricacies of one of America's favorite sports…. Baseball. It centers on the star player of the Empires team who comes out of the closet and the way it effects the entire team. It deals with situations including homophobia, racism, class, and masculinity in spots. It's loosely inspired by

The show originally started in London at the Donmar Warehouse back in 2002. It was a huge smash, the show then made its way across the pond to our New York backyard playing The Public Theater OFF Broadway. It then moved ON Broadway the following year in 2003 playing the Walter Kerr Theatre for 28 previews and 355 regular performances.

TAKE ME OUT was nominated for 4 Tony Awards in 2003 winning 3 for BEST PLAY, BEST FEATURED ACTOR IN A PLAY (for Dennis O'Hare), and BEST DIRECTION OF A PLAY (for Joe Mantello).

Tina: The Tina Turner Musical to Hold Open Call for Role of Young Tina | Playbill

LET IT SHINE!!! The Broadway engagement of the smash hit Tina: The Tina Turner Musical is seeking a young newbie to play the role of "Young Anna Mae Bullock" (the girl who would eventually grow up to become the Queen of Rock 'N Roll herself Tina Turner).

The open auditions are being held via video audition submissions and seeking the following…

Black or mixed-race girls in the age ranges of 8?13 (and has a height between 4?2? and 4?11?) that are strong singers, actors, and dancers to audition. Those who audition must submit a self-tape featuring performing the song NUTBUSH CITY LIMITS. Video submissions are happening now through July 2nd, 2019.

As previously announced, the role of the "Adult Tina Turner" will be played by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Adrienne Warren (who previously played the role earning rave reviews in London).

Tina Broadway is set to go ROLLIN' into Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre this Fall. Previews will begin October 12th, 2019 and Opening Night scheduled for November 7th, 2019.

Broadway’s The Prom Will Embark on a National Tour | Playbill

AMERICA, IT'S TIME TO DANCE and to show the world that LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE!!! It has just been announced that the smash hit 8 time Tony Award nominated musical comedy The Prom is set to launch a North American National Tour beginning February 2021.
