Disney’s highly anticipated newest stage musical Frozen begins it’s preview performances tonight. In honor of it, Disney on Broadway is giving fans a taste of 4 of the 12 new original songs written for the stage production that are expecting to flow smoothly along with the beloved songs we all know from the 2013 Oscar winning Animated film. The score for Frozen is written by film’s Oscar winning composers Kristen Anderson Lopez and her 2 time Tony winning husband Bobby Lopez (Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon on Broadway).

The first new original song is performed by Caissie Levy (Broadway’s Hairspray, WICKED The Musical, Hair, Ghost the Musical, and last seen in the recent revival of Les Mis?rables US) who stars as the beloved powerful icy princess turned snow queen “Elsa” along with members of the Male Ensemble. This new song is a showstopping ballad called MONSTER. It’s performed in the second act by “Elsa”. In the scene, she is terrified for her life as the sounds of “Prince Hans” and his angry men (on the hunt to capture her) are heard in the distance coming closer (towards the icy palace in the mountains) and she figures out the next step to get away.

FROZEN begins previews tonight at the St. James Theatre and Opening Night is set for March 22nd, 2018.

Break a leg to the entire cast, crew, musicians, and creative team.
