25 years ago today, the original production of James Lapine and William Finn’s cult classic Falsettos on Broadway opened at the Golden Theatre running for a total of 487 performances.

The show tells the story of a dysfunctional Jewish family dealing with Marvin who divorcing his wife Trina for his boyfriend Whizzer. The show originally were 2 separate Off Broadway shows (March of the Falsettos & Falsettoland) and were put into a full length musical in 2 acts.

Most recently this 2016-2017 Broadway season, FALSETTOS returned to the Great White Way with an all new production from Lincoln Center Theater which ran for a strictly limited engagement of 114 performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre. In addition, the revival was filmed during it’s final weeks for PBS Award winning series Live from Lincoln Center. It’s set to air later this year.
