Happy 100th Birthday to another one of Broadway’s legendary houses… The Broadhurst Theatre. Built as a back to back house with the Majestic, the 1,156 seat Broadway house opened with a production of MAYTIME.

From there, some of the most famous plays and musicals in Broadway history have gone on to perform in this intimate house including The Gershwin’s The Real American Folk Song, Hold Evereything, The Petrified Forest, Agatha Christie’s Ten Little Indians, Happy Birthday (starring Helen Hayes), Flahooley (starring the late Barbara Cook in her Broadway Debut), Auntie Mame (starring Rosalind Russell), a revival of Pal Joey, Fiorello (starring the late Tom Bosley), Kelly (the biggest flop in Broadway history in the 60’s with Opening Night being Closing Night), the original production of Cabaret the Musical (starring Joel Grey), Neil Simon’s The Sunshine Boys, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Aspects of Love, Dancin’, Kiss of the Spider Woman (starring Chita Rivera), a revival of Once Upon a Mattress (starring Sarah Jessica Parker), the acclaimed musical revue Fosse (starring Ben Vereen and Ann Reinking), a revival of Into The Woods (starring Vanessa Williams), the short lived musical revue Lennon, the first Broadway revival of Les Mis?rables US, a revival of Equus (starring Daniel Radcliffe), Hugh Jackman’s acclaimed solo concert Back on Broadway, MAMMA MIA! (transferring from the Winter Garden for the remainder of it’s Broadway run), Misery on Broadway (starring Bruce Williss), Tuck Everlasting, and The Front Page on Broadway.

The Broadhurst Theatre is currently home to Anastasia The Musical (which is still playing to packed houses).
