A few days ago, Tony and Emmy winner Kristin Chenoweth participated in a benefit at Auburn University paying tribute to the late composer Harvey Schmidt who recently died this past Friday due to heart failure.

During the performance, Chenoweth took center stage to perform one of Harvey Schmidt’s beloved songs he co-wrote with Tom Jones for the legendary musical The Fantasticks On Broadway…. SOON IT’S GONNA RAIN.

For Chenoweth, she is no stranger to performing in THE FANTASTICKS. One of her first major professional gigs in NYC was appearing in the musical’s original Off Broadway production at the Sullivan Street Playhouse back in 1995 playing the only female role in the show “Luisa The Girl”.

Beautiful tribute KC.
