BREAKING NEWS: Tony nominee Adrienne Warren (Shuffle Along on Broadway and BRING IT ON THE MUSICAL) has been tapped to make her West End debut star as the legendary Tina Turner in the upcoming World premiere of Tina The Musical.
As previously mentioned, the show will play London’s West End at the Aldwych Theatre. Previews will begin on March 21st, 2018 and opening night set April 17th, 2018
The show will feature direction by Tony nominee Phyllida Lloyd (MAMMA MIA!), a book by Olivier winner Katori Hall, choreography by Anthony van Laast, set and costume design by Mark Thompson, musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbec, lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Nevin Steinberg and orchestrations by Ethan Popp.
TINA tells the untold story of Anna Mae Bullock and her to rise to fame in the 60’s becoming the legendary QUEEN OF ROCK N’ ROLL herself, the iconic Tina Turner. The musical also explores Tina’s horrifying relationship with Ike Turner (who domestically abused her) and how she broke free and left him. The show will feature all of Tina’s Greatest hits including PROUD MARY, WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO, RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH, and much more.
