Get ready to TURN BACK TIME! A musical about the life of the Grammy and Oscar winning entertainer Cher is in the works. A professional reading is happening now through the 14th, 2017.
The musical is expecting to have 3 actresses playing the iconic diva in 3 generations of her life….her early beginnings when she meets Sonny Bono (the half of Sonny & Cher), becoming successful music and movie star dealing with the pressure of being in the entertainment industry from the GYPSIES, TRAMPS, & THIEVES, HALF BREED, THE CHER SHOW, and MOONSTRUCK era, and the lady we know today from the TURN BACK TIME and BELIEVE era.
The Cher musical will be directed by Jason Moore (Avenue Q), have a book by Rick Elice (Peter and the Starcatcher), and of course songs from Cher’s career. No word has been made when the production will actually be put up on Broadway.
