BRING DOWN THE WALL! Last night was a bittersweet and emotional evening for the NY Theatre scene as the acclaimed revival of the world’s most beloved musical classic The Fantasticks On Broadway played it’s final performance at the Jerry Orbach Theatre (part of The Theater Center).

THE FANTASTICKS has been part of the NY Theater scene for the past 57 years. With the closing performance of the revival, the beloved Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones musical has played a total of 21,552 performances here in NYC. That is 17,162 performances of it’s original Off Broadway run at the Sullivan Street Playhouse and 4,390 performances of the acclaimed revival that has been running on and off since 2006 at the Jerry Orbach Theatre.

With THE FANTASTICKS no longer on the NY Theatre scene, let’s take a moment to TRY TO REMEMBER THAT OUR HEARTS SHOULD REMEMBER & FOLLOW (FOLLOW, FOLLOW, FOLLOW, FOLLOW, FOLLOW, FOLLOW, FOLLOW, FOLLOW).

Bravo and congrats to the acclaimed cast, crew, musicians, and creative team of the revival of this beloved musical classic.

Up next for the Jerry Orbach Theatre at the Theater Center will be the premiere of the new Off Broadway play THE CRUSADE OF CONNORSTEPHENS.

Who has seen THE FANTASTICKS in it’s original run or the revival?

The Fantasticks by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt continues its legendary run Off-Broadway!
