BREAKING NEWS: For the past few weeks, Actors' Equity Association (the union that represents both Theater performers and stage managers) have been dealing with a strike to take the stand in a fight against The Broadway League in increasing the minimum salary and profit sharing for those who get involved in the Development labs (readings and workshops) of new shows being developed for Broadway especially new musicals. Actors have been taking on the fight via social media with the campaign entitled NOT A LAB RAT.

Broadway League and Actors’ Equity Approve New Contract Ending Strike

The National Council of Actors' Equity Association has unanimously approved the terms of a new contract with the Broadway League and its coordinated bargaining partners to replace the Lab Agreement, ending Equity's first strike in nearly 50 years.
