With Broadway shut down due to the COVID-19 panic, it's even postponed majority of some of the most fun annual event the Theater community looks forward to every year. One of them was the annual BROADWAY BACKWARDS concert. The 2020 edition of this annual event was initially supposed to be yesterday at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre (home of Aladdin – The Musical). However with everyone stuck at home, a fun virtual playlist has been made of some of the best performances within this past decade.
For those who may not know, BROADWAY BACKWARDS is a benefit concert to raise money for both Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. It features a lineup of some of your favorite Broadway stars belting out your favorite Musical Theater songs…. GENDER SWAPED. The Men sing the Women and the Women sing the Men.
Hoping once all calms down, the concert will be back next year in 2021.
