Here in the Theater world, there have been some incredible shows that have been part of the Broadway community. Also, there have been shows in London’s West End and around the world that have been successful but are overdue to hit Broadway.
One of those musicals was Our House – The Madness Musical The musical featured songs of the acclaimed British rock band Madness (including OUR HOUSE (IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET), HOUSE OF FUN, MY GIRL, & many more of their greatest hits).
It also featured a book written by Tim Firth telling the story of a 16 year old Camden lad named Joe Casey who gets into a little trouble with the law and his follows the two paths that his life could take; have a criminal record and social exclusion or lose him the girl of his dreams.
OUR HOUSE premiered in London’s West End at the Cambridge Theatre in 2002 and went on to win the 2003 Olivier Awards for Best New Musical. It went on to tour the UK as well as productions Internationally including Australia and Japan). It still has not yet hit the US.
Who thinks OUR HOUSE should finally hit the US and on the Broadway stage?!!
