If anyone has caught the filmed performance of Disney’s Newsies in the Movie Theaters recently (or even saw the musical live on stage) and wish you could dance like a Newsie, here’s your chance to learn some of that incredible Tony winning choreography….
During the show’s run on Broadway, Disney Theatrical Productions teamed up with former First Lady Michelle Obama to launch the GET UP AND GO fitness and wellness program helping people learn to live healthy and be active. As we all know for many aspiring performers out there that want to be on Broadway, you have to learn and be in top physical shape.
In the following video part of the GET UP AND GO campaign, the show’s Tony winning choreographer Christopher Gattelli along with members of the cast did a tutorial video teaching all the FANSIES at home the “newspaper dance” from the show’s Act 1 showstopper and the musical’s anthem SEIZE THE DAY.
