SWING YOUR RAZOR WIDE! Fresh from an acclaimed run in London, the all new intimate Off-Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s iconic musical thriller Sweeney Todd NYC officially opens tonight at the Barrow Street Theatre.
This new production will transform the Barrow Street Theatre into a working pie shop with the audience feeling like they are part of the action.
For the company, it will feature several cast members from the London production as well as some of Broadway’s best playing limited engagements as some of the main roles…
From February 14th – April 9th, West End performers Jeremy Secomb, Siobh?n McCarthy, Duncan Smith, and Joseph Taylor will all reprise their London performances of “Sweeney Todd”, “Mrs. Lovett”, “the Judge”, and “Tobias”.
From April 11th and forward, Tony nominees Norm Lewis and Carolee Carmello along with Jamie Jackson and John-Michael Lyles will take over the roles of “Sweeney Todd”, “Mrs. Lovett”, “the Judge”, and “Tobias”.
The remaining actors who will be with the show for both cast changes will be Matt Doyle as “Anthony”, Alex Finke as “Johanna”,
Betsy Morgan as “The Beggar Woman” and “Pirelli”, and
Tony nominee Brad Oscar as Beadle Bamford.
