BREAKING NEWS: The music of Jimmy Buffett is on it’s way to Broadway Spring 2018 with the new musical ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE. The show tells the story of Tully who has his life all figured out as a part time musician and bartender. However, his world is about to change when he meets a career-minded tourist.

Along with the music of Jimmy Buffett, the show will be directed by Tony nominee Christopher Ashley (Memphis The Musical), a book co-written by Greg Garc?a (My Name Is Earl) and Mike O’Malley (Survivor’s Remorse, Shameless), choreography by Tony nominee Kelly Devine (ROCKY Broadway, Come From Away), set designed by Walt Spangler, costumed by Tony winner Paul Tazewell (Hamilton: An American Musical), Lighting by 2 time Tony winner Howell Binkley (Jersey Boys, Hamilton: An American Musical, Come from Away), sound by 2 time Tony winner Brian Ronan (The Book of Mormon on Broadway, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical) and Tony Award nominee Christopher Jahnke (The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess on Broadway, Dear Evan Hansen) as music supervisor.

Before it hits Broadway, the show will embark on a 4 city out of town tryout National Tour. It will premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, California(May 9?June 25) before heading to New Orleans, Houston, and Chicago. No word on the exact date for Broadway.
