COME WHAT MAY!!!! The musical adaptation of the Award winning musical film Moulin Rouge is heading to the Great White Way. But first, the show will be having it’s world premiere production in Boston Summer 2018 reopening the Emerson Colonial Theatre. No official date has been announced when the production will officially open or when it will hit Broadway exactly.

The show just begun their Fall lab workshop with Stage and heartthrob Aaron Tveit as “Christian” (made famous on screen by Ewan McGregor) and Tony winner Karen Olivo as “Satine” (made famous on screen by Nicole Kidman)

Tony nominee Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson on Broadway, Peter and the Starcatcher, ROCKY Broadway) will direct,

Emmy nominee Sonya Tayeh (So You Think You Can Dance) will choreograph,

Tony winner John Logan will do the book.

Tony winner Derek McLane will design the sets,

Tony winner Catherine Zuber will design the costumes,

Tony nominee Justin Townsend will design the lighting,

Tony nominee Peter Hylenski will design the sound,

and Drama Desk-winner David Brian Brown will design all the wigs.

MOULIN ROUGE tells the beautiful, romantic, and dramatic story of a young poet who is inspired by the Bohemian lifestyle in Paris who ends up at the famous Moulin Rouge (the most famous cabaret venue in Paris filled with sex, drugs, electricity and the Can-Can) and falls in love with the club’s headliner. The musical also features a mix of the many songs we know today in these past 50 years from the worlds of Pop, Rock, Jazz, and Theatre.
