BREAKING NEWS: Acclaimed West End and screen superstar Samantha Barks (Les Miserables – Musical) and Tony Award winner Steve Kazee (Once the Musical) have been tapped to star in the highly anticipated musical adaptation of the hit Gary Marshall film Pretty Woman this Spring 2018.
Barks will play the title role of the “Vivian Ward” (the role made famous by Julia Roberts) and Kazee will play “Edward Lewis” (the role made famous by Richard Gere). It tells the story of a man in a rough business needing an escort for some social events. When he hires a beautiful prostitute, they end up falling in love.
PRETTY WOMAN THE MUSICAL will have a limited 5 week World Premiere run in Chicago at the Oriental Theatre. starting on March 13th, 2018 before hitting Broadway later this upcoming year.
The show will feature a score by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, a new book by the film’s screenwriters J. F. Lawton and the film’s late creator Garry Marshall. In addition, Tony winner Jerry Mitchell will direct and choreograph.
