The Theater community has been letting their voices heard to save some of our notable performing spaces in New York City that has been coping with serious financial troubles due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One of those spaces is New York's West Bank Cafe and The Laurie Beechman Theatre. As previously mentioned, a GoFundMe Fundraising campaign was released and succeeded with Theater supporting helping raise over $50K.
Despite succeeding, there is still more fundraising efforts to keep the beloved 42nd Street Restaurant and Cabaret venue stronger than ever. It has just been announced that this Christmas Day, a special virtual telethon will be happening to help support the venue's future. The telethon entitled SAVE WEST BANK CAFE will feature some of the biggest names on the Great Bright Way along with Film and TV coming together to perform holiday favorites, sharing stories about the West Bank, and more. SAVE WEST BANK CAFE will be streamed through the telethon's website (www.savewestbankcafe.com) at Noon EST on December 25th, 2020.
