BREAKING NEWS: 2 time Tony Award nominee Stephanie J. Block (Broadway’s WICKED The Musical, The Boy From Oz, The Pirate Queen, 9 to 5: The Musical, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, recently in the revival of Falsettos on Broadway, and currently on TV’s Rise) has been tapped to star in the upcoming Broadway bound The Cher Show. Block will play the legendary singer and actress that is “Cher” at the time she became well known as the Diva we all know in love. She is 1 of 3 actresses who will play her during various stages of her career. The additional 2 actresses that will play “Cher” from when she was a teenager first leaving home and her time with Sonny Bono will be announced soon.
As previously announced, THE CHER SHOW will have it’s world premiere run in Chicago at the Oriental Theatre starting June 12th, 2018 for a limited 5 week run. From there, it will then officially hit the Great White Way this upcoming Fall 2018 playing Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre (currently home of the limited run revival of Angels in America on Broadway). No dates for the start of the Broadway run has been announced.
