WE LOVE NY: THE HOMECOMING CONCERT abruptly cancelled due to severe storm; Hurricane Henri ahead!!

BREAKING NEWS: Due to the upcoming Hurricane Henri, the plug was just pulled on tonight’s WE LOVE NYC: THE HOMECOMING CONCERT in Central Park.
The entire show began with sun at a great start but was abruptly cancelled while in the midst of Barry Manilow‘s setlist. While singing his song MANDY, an announcement was made over the loudspeakers telling everyone to evacuate. Acts that were on deck set to perform included Cynthia Erivo, Paul Simon, and Bruce Springsteen.
Our hearts go out to everyone who didn’t get to perform.
To everyone at the concert, get to shelter safety.

THE BOSS himself Bruce Springsteen – currently back on the Broadway stage reopening the Theaters with an encore engagement of his acoustic solo concert at the St. James Theatre,
The powerhouse Jennifer Hudson – known for her Oscar winning performance in Dreamgirls and the film version of Cats plus appeared in the recent Award winning Broadway revival of The Color Purple,
Hudson’s Color Purple co-star Tony and Grammy winner Cynthia Erivo,
the celebrated performer Barry Manilow – who previously had several concert residencies on the Great Bright Way and preparing to debut his musical HARMONY at the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene coming up,

The legendary Paul Simon – who had a short lived stint on Broadway with his cult and controversial hit musical The Capeman.

Merry Wives - Free Shakespeare in the Park
BREAKING NEWS: The Public Theater‘s Shakespeare in the Park’s production of MERRY WIVES have cancelled tonight and tomorrow’s performances at Central Park‘s Delacorte Theatre. It was just reported that a company member has tested POSITIVE for COVID-19. No word has been said if it was a cast or crew member.
With canceling these next 2 performances, the full cast, crew, and staff will once again be dealing with self-isolation and further COVID-19 testing that’s needed. All of this is for the company’s safety and health. Details on the contact will be fully revealed later.

BREAKING NEWS: Next week’s Opening Night performance of The Public Theater‘s Shakespeare in the Park presentation of MERRY WIVES has sadly been postponed. At a recent performance, cast member Jacob Ming-Trent sustained an onstage injury and needs to recover.
The Opening Night of MERRY WIVES was set for July 27th, 2021 at Central Park‘s Delacorte Theatre. It will now be pushed to August 9th, 2021 and still expecting to run through September 18th, 2021.
