Corey?Hawkins?to?Play?Benny?in?In?the?Heights?Film
CHECK 1, 2, 3! It has just been announced that Tony nominee Corey Hawkins (SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION on Broadway) has been tapped appear in the new film adaptation of the Tony winning musical In the Heights. The acclaimed performer of stage and screen will take on the role of the dreamy dispatch co-worker "Benny" (the role originated on stage by Christopher Jackson).
Hawkins joins the previously announced original Hamilton cast member Anthony Ramos who will take on the role of Bodega owner "Usnavi".
The film adaptation of IN THE HEIGHTS is set to begin filming this Summer 2019. Under the direction of Jon M. Chu, the film will be released in Theaters nationwide on June 26th, 2020.
