Disney’s Award winning smash hit The Lion King – Musical celebrated it’s 20th Anniversary with a special gala performance at the Minskoff Theatre for family, friends, Disney alumni, veteran cast members, and more.
The audience last night got the surprise shock of their life when the musical’s co-composer Award winner Sir Elton John made a surprise appearance during a special ENCORE finale to perform CIRCLE OF LIFE with the cast.

Tonight we celebrated 20 years on Broadway with some of our closest family and friends, including Julie Taymor and the entire creative team, over 100 cast alumni and a surprise performance by the one and only Sir Elton John.

This Fall, Disney’s Award winning and long running smash hit The Lion King – Musical will be celebrating it’s 20th roaring year on Broadway.
To celebrate, join the show’s Tony winning director and creative genius Julie Taymor alongTony nominee and veteran cast member Christopher Jackson as they sit down and talk about the memories and the journey for the show’s road from screen to the stage. This Q&A event will be at the 92nd Street Y on October 29th, 2017 at 7pm.
FUN FACT: Christopher Jackson (known as the original “Benny” from In The Heights and “George Washington” in Hamilton: An American Musical) made his Broadway Debut in THE LION KING. He was in the Ensemble of the original Broadway cast and understudied the late Jason Raize in the lead role of “Adult Simba”. When Raize departed to work on a solo career, Jackson took over the role fulltime.
The stage adaptation of THE LION KING is currently the 3rd Longest Running Show in Broadway History and continues to play to sold out and packed houses 8 times a week at the Minskoff Theatre.

The company of Disney’s highly anticipated Broadway stage musical adaptation of Frozen had it’s officially opening night of it’s Pre-Broadway tryout in Denver at the Buell Theatre at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The show will play their through October 1st, 2017. Check out the cast backstage and onstage as they take their opening night bows right here.
Frozen on Broadway will officially arrive in New York City Winter 2018. Previews begin on February 22nd, 2017 and Opening Night set for March 22nd, 2018 at Broadway’s St. James Theatre.

BREAKING NEWS: The highly anticipated Broadway debut of Disney’s Frozen has officially announced it’s date for Opening Night set for March 22nd, 2018 at the St. James Theatre. As previously announced, the show will begin it’s Broadway previews on February 22nd, 2018.
The World Premiere out of town tryout of Frozen on Broadway is currently happening in Denver, Colorado at the Buell Theater (part of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts) now through October 1st, 2017.
