BREAKING NEWS: Get ready to LOOK AT YOUR LIFE THROUGH HEAVEN'S EYES as the stage musical adaptation of the Oscar winning DreamWorks Animation film The Prince Of Egypt is making its way to London's West End next year. Under the direction of Scott Schwartz and choreography by Sean Cheesman, the show will begin performances at London's Dominion Theatre on February 5th, 2020, the official Opening Night set for February 25th, 2019, and will run for a strictly limited 32 week engagement.
THE PRINCE OF EGYPT is a musical adaptation of the Exodus story. It centers on the biblical story of "Moses", a Hebrew newborn who was saved by the Egyptian royals, leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt, and receiving The 10 Commandments. It features a score by Tony and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz (the genius behind WICKED The Musical, Godspell, Pippin the Musical, Pocahontas, and more). It features some of the most beloved songs written for the big screen that will be heard on stage including DELIVER US, ALL I EVER WANTED, THROUGH HEAVEN'S EYES, and the Oscar winning WHEN YOU BELIEVE. In addition, Schwartz also wrote 10 new songs for the show.
The stage musical adaptation had its official World Premiere at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley in Mountain View, California back in 2007. It also was performed in Danish at the Fredericia Teater in 2018, and most recently last summer performed in Utah at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre and Center for the Arts.

DELIVER US! For these past few years, a musical adaptation of The Academy Award winning animated film The Prince Of Egypt has been in development for the stage. It has just been announced that a private industrial reading of updated rewrites of the Broadway bound musical is expecting to happen in London this week. It also comes at an exciting timing with the film's recent 20th Anniversary.
THE PRINCE OF EGYPT is a musical retelling of The 10 Commandments. It tells the biblical story of "Moses", an adopted Egyptian prince who becomes the deliverer of his real brethren, the enslaved Hebrews, and therefore leads the Exodus to Mount Sinai, where he receives, from God, the Ten Commandments. It features an original score by the Tony, Grammy, and Oscar winning composer of WICKED The Musical, Pippin the Musical, Godspell, Pocahontas, and others himself…. Stephen Schwartz. The musical will feature the beloved songs from the film including DELIEVER US, THROUGH HEAVENS EYES, PLAYING WITH THE BIG BOYS, & the Oscar winning WHEN YOU BELIEVE.
The musical originally had its World Premiere in San Francisco, California at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts back in the Fall of 2017, It also played a production at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre and Center for the Arts in Ivins, Utah and most recently an engagement at the Fredericia Teater in Denmark. We are all hoping for full scale productions of THE PRINCE OF EGYPT to hit both Broadway and London's West End soon.

DELIVER US TO THE PROMISE LAND! The Prince of Egypt (the beloved biblical musical animated film based on the Exodus story of Moses and The Ten Commandments) is finally heading for a World Premiere stage production in San Francisco this fall and then heading to Denmark in 2018.
The musical adaptation is expecting to feature a score by the film’s Oscar and Tony winning Stephen Schwartz (WICKED The Musical, Pippin the Musical, Pocahontas) and book by Philip LaZebnik.
Yes, it will feature the film’s Oscar winning song WHEN YOU BELIEVE.
No word has been made if THE PRINCE OF EGYPT will also hit Broadway.
