If you’re enjoying Leslie Odom Jr. In Concert on PBS, there’s exciting news for fans of the Tony winner…. he is coming out with a brand new solo album!!!
The album will be released later this Fall 2018 from S-Curve Records. It’s expecting to feature a mix of jazz, surprising new renditions of Broadway favorites, and more. Several songs from the album are heard on tonight’s PBS concert. One of those songs (now available for digital download as a single) is a rendition of the song WITHOUT YOU from Rent (the show that Odom Jr made his Broadway Debut back in 1998 at the age of 17 being one of the youngest cast members at the time).
The album will mark as Odom Jr’s 3rd solo album. His self titled debut album LESLIE ODOM JR was originally an independent project with funding from fans via Kickstarter back in 2013. The process of releasing took quite some time due to Odom Jr’s schedule filming SMASH at the time. The album was offically released in 2014 available via CD Baby. The album was then re-recorded and updated in 2016 following the success of Odom Jr’s breakout performance in Hamilton: An American Musical (which he signed a 4 album deal via S-Curve Records). The updated version of the self titled debut album went to # 1 on the Billboard Jazz Charts and # 147 on Billboard 200. Several songs from his debut album also appeared in tonight’s PBS concert,

BREAKING NEWS: Tony Award winner Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton: An American Musical) and American Idol’s Katherine McPhee (currently in Waitress the Musical) have been tapped to announce this year’s nominations for the 72nd Annual Tony Awards. The revealing of the nominations are set for May 1st, 2018 at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center at 8:30am EST. It will be livestreamed on the Tony Awards website and social media pages along with appearing on several news channels.
In addition, the revealing of the nominations will hit the official 40 DAYS marks till the Tonys. Also on this day, we will be presenting our TOP 40 TONY AWARDS COUNTDOWN playing you the best performances from the past telecasts.
The 72nd Annual Tony Awards are set for June 10th, 2018 live from New York’s famed Radio City Music Hall. You can watch the broadcast on CBS that day.
