Breaking: LaChanze, Ariana DeBose and Storm Lever Will Disco to Broadway in SUMMER!
BREAKING NEWS: LET’S DANCE with some HOT STUFF!!! It has just been announced that LaChanze, Ariana DeBose, and Storm Lever have been tapped to star in the Broadway production of Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.
All 3 actresses (who previously starred in the show’s world premiere production at La Jolla Playhouse last year) will all star as the legendary QUEEN OF DISCO herself the late Donna Summer during 3 stages of her life.
Tony Award winner LaChanze (Star of the original productions of Once On This Island Broadway and The Color Purple Musical, last seen in If/Then Musical) will play “Diva Donna” (the older version of “Donna Summer” at the peak of her career in her 50’s till her death),
Ariana DeBose (Broadway’s BRING IT ON THE MUSICAL, Hamilton: An American Musical, and last seen in A Bronx Tale The Musical) will play “Disco Donna” (the late teens through 20’s version of “Donna Summer” when her career began to take off,
and newcomer Storm Lever will play “Duckling Donna” (the younger version of “Donna Summer” discovering her voice.
SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL will hustle it’s way into Broadway’s Lunt Fontanne Theatre. Previews will begin March 28th, 2018 and Opening Night is set for April 23rd, 2018.
