This production said SO LONG DEARIE after playing a complete total of 583 performance at Broadway’s Shubert Theatre and a full total of 3,737 performances here on the Great White Way (consisting of the original 1964 production’s of 2,844 performances, the 1975 revival’s 47 performances, the 1978 revival’s 147 performances, the 1995 revival’s 116 performances, and this production combined).

REMINDER: If you didn’t get to see this revival of HELLO, DOLLY on Broadway, no worries. Everyone’s favorite street-smart matchmaker will be coming to a city near you as the US National Tour of this production is set to kick off this Fall 2018. It will star Tony Award winning legend Betty Buckley in the title role.

Tonight, Broadway says SO LONG DEARIE once again to everyone’s favorite street smart Matchmaker as the 2017 Tony winning revival of Hello, Dolly on Broadway (starring Tony winners Bette Midler and David Hyde-Pierce) ends its run at the Shubert Theatre. Following the final curtain call, this production will have played 34 previews and 549 regular performances here on the Great White Way.

In addition, HELLO, DOLLY will have made history playing a complete total of 3,737 PERFORMANCES here in New York City. That consists of…

the original 1964 production’s of 2,844 performances,

the 1975 revival’s 47 performances,

the 1978 revival’s 147 performances,

the 1995 revival’s 116 performances,

and this current revival lasting a full total of 583 performances.

For those who weren’t able to get to come to New York City to see this acclaimed revival of one of the most iconic musicals in Broadway history, no worries. A US National Tour of this production as previously announced is set to kick off this Fall 2018 starring Tony Award winning legend Betty Buckley.

Bette Midler Will Return To HELLO, DOLLY! For Final Six Weeks of Broadway Run

Everyone’s favorite matchmaker promised to NEVER GO AWAY AGAIN and she didn’t keep that promise. Due to recent low ticket sales, last year’s Tony winning revival of Hello, Dolly on Broadway is set to say SO LONG DEARIE this Summer (after over 500 performances) at the Shubert Theatre. The show will play its final performance on August 25th, 2018.

In addition, it has just been announced that the revival’s original Tony winning stars The Divine Bette Midler (the titular role of the beloved matchmaker “Dolly Levi”), David Hyde-Pierce (the Grumpy “Horace Vandergelder”) ,and recovered cast member Gavin Creel (the energetic co-worker “Cornelius Hackl”) are all set to return for the final 6 weeks beginning July 20th, 2018.

The production’s current stars leads Tony winner Bernadette Peters along with Tony nominees Victor Garber and Santino Fontana are all set to take their final bows on July 15th, 2018.

Tickets for the final 6 week engagement return of Bette, David, and Gavin will go on sale April 28th, 2018.

In addition as previously announced, this production is set to embark on a North American National Tour this Fall in Cleveland (starring the legendary Tony winner Betty Buckley).

HELLO, DOLLY! with Bette Midler Taped for Lincoln Center Archives

BREAKING NEWS: The Tony winning revival of Hello, Dolly on Broadway was filmed for Lincoln Center Archives (at the New York Performing Arts Library).

The performance was filmed last night at the Shubert Theatre which was also the final performance of the show’s original stars Tony winners Bette Midler and David Hyde Pierce along with Taylor Trensch, and Beanie Feldstein.

For those who weren’t able to see the whole original cast of this revival of HELLO, DOLLY, this is your chance next time you plan to visit the New York Performing Arts Library at Lincoln Center.

In addition as previously announced, the show itself will be dark for the whole weekday as the company gears up to prepare for Tony winner Bernadette Peters, Tony nominee Victor Garber, and newcomers Charlie Stemp and Molly Riggs who join this Saturday as the new “Dolly”, “Horace”, “Barnaby”, and “Minnie”.
