One Last Time…Javier Munoz Plays His Final Performance in HAMILTON Today

Today we bid farewell to Javier Munoz as he leads the revolution ONE LAST TIME in the Broadway company of Hamilton: An American Musical.

Munoz has been with the show since the very beginning (fresh off working with the show’s creator and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda on his debut hit In The Heights). His journey began with HAMILTON during it’s early incarnations in 2013 originally playing the dual roles of “John Laurens” & “Philip Hamilton”. When the show was about to launch a full scale production in 2015, Munoz was moved up to serving as Lin-Manuel Miranda’s alternate in the lead role of “Alexander Hamilton” during the show’s Off Broadway run at The Public Theater and continued with the show to Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre. As the alternate, he performed once a week and also served as the standby when Miranda was out sick or on vacation earning rave reviews. He also got to perform when President Barrack Obama came the first time. With his triumph performance wowing audiences once a week, Munoz was moved up to playing the title role fulltime replacing Lin-Manuel Miranda in July 2016.

Beginning this Tuesday night, January 16th, 2018, Michael Luwoye will return to the Broadway company (fresh off of launching the 1st National Tour) as the all new fulltime leading man. Luwoye also made history with the show as the first African American actor ever to play the title role of “Alexander Hamilton”.

Happy Trails and congrats to Javier on an amazing journey with one of the best shows on Broadway.

Welcome (back) Michael and Break a leg this Tuesday!!!
