Tonight, Aisha Jackson made her debut going on for Patti Murin as “Princess Anna” and also made history as the first African American actress to play the beloved enthusiastic princess on Broadway. Check her out with Jelani Remy who also made history as the first African American actor ever to play the role of the beloved icemaker “Kristoff”. Congrats Aisha!!!

FIRST LISTEN: Disney on Broadway continues to give fans a sneak peak of 4 of the 12 new original songs written for the Broadway stage musical adaptation of the Oscar winning Animated film Frozen. The score is written by film’s Oscar winning composers Kristen Anderson Lopez and her 2 time Tony winning husband Bobby Lopez (Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon on Broadway).
This 2nd new song is performed by Patti Murin (Broadway’s Lysistrata Jones) who stars as the enthusiastic and brave young princess “Anna” and newcomer Jelani Alladin as the always kept to oneself ice harvester turned true love interest “Kristoff”. It’s a new original comic relief duet in the first act called WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT LOVE. In the scene “Anna” and “Kristoff” are crossing an icy mountain but along the way they get into a brief argument about marrying someone 1 day after you met them.
Frozen on Broadway is currently in previews at the St. James Theatre. Opening Night is set for March 22nd, 2018

THESE GIRLS REALLY WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN! It has been announced that Broadway favorites Caissie Levy (last seen as “Fantine” in the recent revival of Les Mis?rables Broadway) and Patti Murin (Broadway’s Lysistrata Jones) have been tapped to play sisters in a Spring lab presentation of Disney’s upcoming newest show Frozen on Broadway as “Elsa” and “Anna”.
It has not been announced yet if both actors will be continuing with the project when the show has it’s pre-Broadway tryout this summer in Denver or when it hits Broadway’s St. James Theatre in 2018.
