Despite the ongoing safety precautions of the COVID-19 pandemic, it doesn't stop our Theater community from spreading happiness and cheer. Earlier this week, Playbill and the Broadway Green Alliance teamed up for a once in a lifetime original musical holiday concert YOU'RE A GREEN ONE, MR. FINCH.
In case anyone may not know, YOU'RE A GREEN ONE, MR. FINCH is an untold story about "Mr. Finch", the disgruntled cousin of The Grinch himself trying to make the holiday season narcissistically about him. However along the way, he learns what it really means to have a green and sustainable holiday.
Under the direction and created David Alpert, it features some of the biggest names on the Great Bright Way led by….
Olivier Award winner and Broadway scene-stealer Queen Lesli Margherita,
Tony winner Idina Menzel,
Broadway favorite George Salazar,
Hamilton and In The Heights favorite Javier Munoz,
Hadestown's Original Broadway FATES themselves Jewelle Blackman, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer, and Kay Trinidad,
Jagged Little Pill's Tony nominated star Elizabeth Stanley along with Deanne Stewart and Laurel Harris,
Broadway Princess Party's lead trio Courtney Reed along with Tony nominees Laura Osnes and Susan Egan,
Aladdin's current Broadway "Genie" himself Michael James Scott.
Broadway veteran and special events host Ben Cameron,
Avenue Q and Emojiland showstopper Ann Harada,
cast members the Broadway and National Touring companies of WICKED (both past and present),
and more.
This virtual performance served as a benefit raising money for the Broadway Green Artists which helps educates, motivates, and inspires the entire theatre community and its patrons to implement environmentally friendlier practices on Broadway and beyond. In addition, proceeds also went out to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
