BREAKING NEWS: The cast recording of the recent Tony winning revival of The Color Purple Musical (which starred Tony winner Cynthia Erivo, Grammy and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, and Danielle Brooks) has taken home the Grammy for BEST MUSICAL THEATRE ALBUM.
The recent revival of THE COLOR PURPLE closed at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre this past January after 482 performances. In total since it’s 2005 Broadway Debut, the powerful and inspirational musical (both productions produced by Oprah Winfrey) have played a complete total of 1,422 performance on Broadway.
Up next for the acclaimed John Doyle revival will be a US National Tour in 2017.
