BREAKING NEWS: As previously announced, Hamilton: An American Musical will be going to Puerto Rico next year 2019 with the show’s creator and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda reprising his performance of the title character.

The official dates and venue has been officially set for a 3 week engagement from January 8th -27th, 2019 at the University of Puerto Rico?s Teatro UPR.

In addition, Miranda also mentioned with his plans for doing HAMILTON to Puerto Rico (where his family routes are) is continue to help raise money for art funding and bringing more tourists back to the Island after the destruction from Hurricane Maria.

This is not Miranda’s first time reprising a role he wrote for himself on the Island other than NYC. Back in 2010, he brought the National Tour of his debut Award winning smash hit In The Heights there as Boega owner “Usnavi” and helped the show make history as the first time an Actors’ Equity Association contracted National Tour ever stopped in Puerto Rico.

Also, Miranda did promise to return to HAMILTON following departing the Broadway company in 2016. He is also eyeing plans to also eventually do the show in London and make his West End acting debut there and eventually going back into the Broadway production.
