LET THE THEATER AWARDS SEASON BEGIN!!!! Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees for The Drama League Awards 2018.

Many of this years incredible shows have been nominated (including The Band’s Visit, Mean Girls on Broadway, Angels in America on Broadway, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child NYC, Frozen on Broadway, Hundred Days, Lobby Hero, SpongeBob Broadway, and more) plus there will be a Special Recognition Award given out. The recipients for this year are Tony winning powerhouse Idina Menzel (who will receive the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award), Tony winning director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw (who will receive The Founders Award for Excellence in Directing), and the National Endowment for the Arts (who will receive the Unique Contribution to the Theatre Award).

The Drama League Awards is a once a year Luncheon honoring the best of On Broadway, Off Broadway, and Off-Off Broadway. They are also the oldest and only major theater award show that is chosen by a selection of the theatre community – specifically, by the industry professionals, producers, artists, audiences, and critics who are Drama League members nationwide.

This year’s ceremony is set for May 18th, 2018 at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel.
