BREAKING NEWS: Tony Award winning Gary Beach passed away today at the age of 70. The actor was well known for his showstopping and scene stealing performances both on stage and on screen.

the high energy candelabra “Lumiere” in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast which he earned a Tony nomination,

the flamboyant theater director turned star “Roger De Bris” in The Producers which earned him a Tony for his performance (he later went on to become a replacement for the lead role of the sleazy “Max Bialystock”,

the aging drag queen “Albin ” (aka “Zaza” in the first revival of La Cage Broadway which earned him another Tony nomination,

and was last seen on the Great White Way as sleazy Inn keeper “Thernadier” in the first Broadway revival of Les Misérables US.

RIP Gary Beach….. an ultimate showstopping talent like no other. You will be missed.
