SING FOR ME!!! This year commemorates the 40th Anniversary of the debut of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical The Phantom of the Opera. With this major milestone, we got a big epic announcement for all PHANS everywhere.

Drumroll!!!

The inaugural London production of PHANTOM is getting filmed proshot. Recorded from the stage of its inaugural home at London’s His Majesty’s Theatre during its 40th Anniversary performance, this cast will be led by….

Broadway favorite and Tony nominee Jordan Donica as The Phantom. He is making history for the London company as well being the first black actor to don the half white mask there,

Beatrice Penny-Touré as “Christine Daaé”,

Rhys Whitfield as “Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny”,

Olivier Award nominee and PHAN favorite “Christine” of the 25th Anniversary era Sierra Boggess who is back in the Paris Opera House now playing “Carlotta”,

Matt Bateman as “Piangi”,

Joseph Millson as “Monsieur André”,

Ian Pirie as “Monsieur Firmin”,

Joanna Riding as “Madame Giry”,

and

Millie Lyon as “Meg Giry”.

This proshot will also be the second time a stage production of PHANTOM was captured on film. The most prior was in 2011 with the legendary 25th Anniversary concert production at London’s Royal Albert Hall led by Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess.

This new proshot promises to keep the spirit of Hal Prince and Gillian Lynne’s legendary staging alive…. Even for those who or never saw the show during its record breaking 35 YEAR RUN on Broadway.

Who is excited?!
