IT'S OCTOBER 3RD!!! You know what FETCH day that means?!!! It's National Mean Girls Day!!!!!

In case anyone may not know the whole inside joke, there's a scene where the main character "Cady Heron" has her eyes on the cutest boy in her Math class by the name of "Aaron Samuels". "Cady" is asked of that certain day by "Aaron" that changes her life forever. Because of the film earning a huge cult following, it became Nationally well known as NATIONAL MEAN GIRLS DAY!!!

Along with its success as an acclaimed 2004 film, Mean Girls is currently a smash hit Broadway musical!!! It was playing to FETCH houses 8 times a week at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre and recently launched its 1st North American National Tour . Both the Broadway and touring productions are expecting to return in 2021.

In case anyone may not be familiar or have forgotten the story, MEAN GIRLS is based on a best selling novel by Rosalind Wiseman called QUEEN BEES AND WANNABES and of course the 2004 film. It centers on "Cady Heron" who attends public school for the first time ever after many years of being home schooled by her Zoologist parents in Africa. While meeting new friends, she is warned to stay clear of the High School's popular and meanest girls of them all THE PLASTICS. The girls themselves like "Cady". However as the friendships is forged, a scheme is revealed, and "Cady' herself risks becoming a….. Mean Girl. The musical features a book by Tina Fey (who both co-wrote the screenplay and starred in the film) along with a score by Fey's husband Jeff Richmond and Nell Benjamin. Notable songs include IT ROARS, WHERE DO YOU BELONG, STUPID WITH LOVE, SEXY, REVENGE PARTY, FEARLESS, WORLD BURN, I RATHER BE ME, and I SEE STARS.

MEAN GIRLS: THE MUSICAL has been in the works of turning into a stage musical since 2013. It went through 2 1/2 years are early development readings and workshops. It officially had its world premiere debut in our Nation's Capitol in Washington D.C. at the National Theatre in 2017. It immediately made its way to our New York City backyard at the August Wilson Theatre where it was continuing to play to packed houses every night. Tony nominee Grey Henson (later and currently before the shutdown Chad Burris) as "Damian Hubbard",

Kyle Selig (later and temporary Cameron Dallas) as "Aaron Samuels",

Cheech Manohar as "Kevin Gnapoor",

Tony nominee Kerry Butler (later Tony nominee Jennifer Simard and currently before the shutdown Catherine Brunell) as "The Adult Women Figures" (consisting of "Mrs. Herson", "Ms. Norbury", and "Mrs. George"),

The Broadway production of MEAN GIRLS was nominated for a full total of 12 Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL. However, it lost all its categories.

Its National Tour kicked off this past Fall where it was still playing to packed houses every night all over North America.

Upcoming productions will include a company in London's West End expecting to launch in 2021. No Theater or casting has been revealed.

In addition, Fey also announced that a film adaptation of the musical is in the works. No official confirmation has been set of the release, casting, and shooting.
