Alvis Green Jr. wins TikTok contest to sing with Jessica Vosk at Carnegie Hall next month!!

BREAKING NEWS: It has just been announced that celebrated rising singer, actor, and composer Alvis Green Jr. is set to share the stage with Broadway favorite Jessica Vosk next month at her ONE NIGHT ONLY solo show at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall.
Green Jr. lands his debut on the legendary stage thanks to a contest that the WICKED, Fiddler on the Roof, and Finding Neverland star put together where fans had to prepare a 16 bar cut of a Musical Theatre or Pop/Rock song via TikTok using the hashtag #VoskTok #VoskyAtCarnegie. Over 200 of Jessica’s super fans known as the VOSKIANS submitted their videos. In the end, it was Alvis’ powerful vocal chops she and her team loved. In the actual concert, He joins Jessica onstage for their duet as part of the show’s finale.
This once-in-a-life time contest for the Voskians is a full circle pay-it-forward moment for Jessica Vosk. Carnegie Hall was where she landed her first big professional gig as a performer. Following quitting her job on Wall Street following 3 rough years away from the spotlight, she was cast in a concert production of Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus’s musical KRISTINA there. 4 years later, Broadway began to discover a supernova!!!

Jessica Vosk’s Carnegie Hall solo show entitled MY GOLDEN AGE is set for November 8th, 2021 at 8pm. Under the direction of Tony winner Warren Carlyle, Musical Direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, and accompanied by a small orchestra, the show will showcase Vosk’s spectacular vocal chops as she pays tribute to the artists that inspired her journey from Wall Street to Broadway. She will do songs from Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, Sarah Vaughan, and more. It will also include a selection of songs from Vosk’s favorite composers including Stephen Sondheim, Burt Bacharach, and Stephen Schwartz (yup, you can expect some WICKED tunes).

This holiday season is truly gonna be magical as New York City continues to wake up and we continue celebrating the return of our Broadway Theater scene. It has just been announced that the BROADWAY SNOW GLOBES will be returning beginning next month through Christmas in Times Square.

On her next audition stop, the 4’11 versatile stage and screen star decided to boost her game up by one thing….. GIVE EM’ THE OLD RAZZLE DAZZLE….. AND ALL THAT JAZZ. Truy an exciting day to ring in the return of the holiday season and celebrate the return of Broadway. Here comes another great Broadway performance?
At # 28 on our countdown, we take a trip to a notable HONKY TONK town in Tennessee in the 1950’s during a time of segregation and the birth of Rock N’ Roll. There, we meet a young Caucasian White DJ who attempts to get an Black nightclub singer on the radio. Slowly, they fall into a forbidden interracial romance that leads them into dangerous situations. Welcome to that town that is….. Memphis. The show features a score by Bon Jovi keyboard player David Bryan along with additional lyrics and a book by Joe DiPietro.
From the 2011 CBS telecast, here Tony nominated Broadway rock star Adam Pascal as “Huey Calhoun” and the cast bringing that rock n’ roll vibe to a downtown park in lower Manhattan. Here they are performing the fan favorite RADIO.
MEMPHIS originally was developed during the 2003-2004 season at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Massachusetts and TheaterWorks in Mountain View, California. It had it’s official world premiere production in 2008 at La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, California and then later played The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, Washington in 2009.
Following the success of those world premiere productions, MEMPHIS officially arrived on Broadway in 2009 playing the Shubert Theatre where it ran for a total of 30 previews and 1,165 regular performances. Under the direction of Tony winner Christopher Ashley and choreographed by Tony winner Sergio Trujillo, the cast was led by…..

During its run in the Big Apple, the show was also captured on film released in Movie Theaters. The filmed proshot is now available on BOTH DVD and digital download including BroadwayHD. It stars the entire original cast live from the stage of the Shubert Theatre.
Following the success of Broadway, MEMPHIS went on to become a worldwide hit across America, in London’s West End, Australia, and more. It’s currently also being done in High Schools and Regional Theaters everywhere.
