LET'S DANCE, LET'S SHOUT, SHAKE YOUR BODY DOWN TO THE GROUND!! As previously announced, a bio jukebox musical about Michael Jackson has been in development. It has just been announced today that the new musical entitled DON'T STOP 'TILL YOU GET ENOUGH will have its world Premiere in Chicago this Fall 2019 and then will hit Broadway in 2020.
DON'T STOP 'TILL YOU GET ENOUGH follows the story of Michael Jackson on his rise to fame becoming The King of Pop. It also explores his dark times including his controversial dramas and personal issues that led up to his 2009 death. It will feature some of Jackson's greatest # 1 hits including THRILLER, SMOOTH CRIMINAL, BEAT IT, THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL, DON'T STOP TILL YOU GET ENOUGH, BAD, and more.
Produced by the The Michael Jackson Estate and Columbia Live Stage, the show will feature…
a book by 2 time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage,
direction and choreography by Tony winner
Christopher Wheeldon,
and of course all the beloved songs from THE KING OF POP himself.
The Chicago World Premiere tryout of DON'T STOP 'TILL YOU GET ENOUGH will run at the newly renamed James M. Nederlander Theatre (formerly known as the Oriental Theatre in Chicago) on October 29th through December 1st, 2019.
Casting has not been announced yet, In addition, no word has been also been made for the theater and start time for the show's 2020 Broadway Debut.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a transfer of the acclaimed revue THRILLER LIVE (recreating all of Michael Jackson's choreography, videos, and performances on stage) which is still playing in London's West End for the past 10 years.
