Due to recent low ticket sales, it has just been announced today that Lincoln Center Theater's Award winning production of the legendary Lerner and Lowe classic My Fair Lady on Broadway is set to close this summer. The show will play its final performance at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre on July 7th, 2019 (the initial day of the show's current leading lady Laura Benanti as previously announced was initially scheduled to end her contract). Following the final curtain call, this timeless production will have played 39 previews and 509 regular performances.
In a complete total after the closing of the current revival, MY FAIR LADY overall will have played a complete total of 3,950 performances in on the Great White Way, That consists of….
The original 1956 production's 2,717 performances,
The 1976 revival's 384 performances,
The 1981 revival's 120 performances,
The 1993 revival's 181 performance,
and this acclaimed 2017 revival's 548 performances.
