BREAKING NEWS: Film and TV shows have slowly been making their way back to work. One of those projects is another upcoming musical film version of the classic Fairy Tale Cinderella. It has been revealed that work on the film has officially resumed across the pond in London.
At the same time, everything has been running in a full safe matter (especially with the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic). Yup, it's a low level shoot with an array of safety protocols in place for the safety of all involved. That includes….
Social Distancing,
Wearing Face Masks (especially when the cameras are not rolling),
Daily Disinfections,
Constant tests (to make sure no one has the coronavirus),
Contact Tracing,
Safety Training Seminars,
Isolation with the different departments,
and Pre-portioned and wrapped refreshments.
Production on this new musical film will still be happening in London through September.
This new version of CINDERELLA is a modern retelling the story. Under the direction and written by Kay Cannon, co-produced by Tony and Emmy winner James Corden and Leo Pearlman, and an original score by Latin Grammy winner Camila Cabello, it will feature a full all-star cast consisting of….
Camilla Cabello in the title role,
Tony and Emmy winner Billy Porter as "The Fairy Godmother",
Tony winner Idina Menzel as "The Wicked Stepmother",
Nicholas Galitzine as "Prince Robert",
Golden Globe nominee Pierce Brosnan as "The King",
Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe nominee Minnie Driver as "The Queen",
Charlotte Spencer and Maddie Baillio as "The Jealous Stepsisters",
John Mulaney, James Corden, and Romesh Ranganathan playing the "Mice turned Footmen",
and more.
It's expecting to be released in 2021 from Sony Pictures.
PLEASE NOTE: This new modern version of CINDERELLA is not a film remake of the Disney version or the Rodgers & Hammerstein version. It's also not a film version of the previously announced upcoming Andrew Lloyd Webber version hitting the West End in 2021.
