STOMP to Resume Performances Off-Broadway on July 20

BREAKING NEWS: More of New York’s hottest tickets are making their comeback!!!! It has just been announced that the Award winning phenomenon Stomp is ready to bring the “Funky Urban” sounds of matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, and more….. all back to the Big Apple this Summer!!!

The long running toe-tapping smash hit will officially relaunch its Off Broadway run on July 20th, 2021 at the Orpheum Theatre in the East Village. It will also mark history as the first MAINSTREAM Off Broadway show to reopen since the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets go on sale June 20th, 2021.

Along with the show’s Off Broadway company, STOMP will bring the beats back to a city near you. It’s ongoing North American National Tour is set to relaunch on August 16th, 2021 in Utica, NY before continuing to travel across both the United States and Canada.

We cannot wait to hear those “Funky Urban Sounds” once again. The legacy of STOMP lives on!!! New York always and forever has THE BEAT!!!!

BLUE MAN GROUP at the Astor Place Theatre

2021 marks the 30TH ANNIVERSARY of one of the greatest thrilling Theatrical experiences ever in our New York Theater scene……Blue Man Group. What a legacy it’s had and it’s one of the many shows that is expecting to return BOTH here in NYC and its many International productions around the world.

For those who don’t know or have forgotten, BLUE MAN GROUP is unique performance troupe known for having 3 men having their face painted blue, They don’t speak but make unforgettable music in unique styles with plumb pipes, water, and so much more all done with a breathtaking visual presentation.

We’re 4 New York – Julie Gold

Over the years, our Theater scene has continued to share their love and appreciation for THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS with various songs about NYC. One of our personal favorites was a jingle promotion the channel WNBC on Channel 4. It’s entitled WE’RE 4 NEW YORK written by Julie Gold. It featured lead vocals by Tony Award nominee Andrea McArdle (Broadway’s original Annie) along with Curtis King and The Boys Choir Of Harlem.

The commercial featured a montage in New York City life as we all know it….. NBC style. New editions of the commercial were filmed every year.

Breaking: MUNY Will Open To Full Capacity This Summer

BREAKING NEWS: One of the world’s greatest outdoor Theaters is back!!! It has just been announced that the legendary Muny will reopen its doors for its annual Summer season this year. That’s not all…… the St. Louis outdoor theater will be done at a full 100% capacity.

The show’s scheduled to be performed are the previously announced shows that were initially set for last year. However, the season was abruptly postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The shows scheduled to be performed will consist of…..

IN THE HEIGHTS Virtual Book Launch

LET’S HAVE A CARNIVAL DEL BARRIO!!!! Next week is gonna be a really happy set of events for our Theater community. We are celebrating BOTH the release of the brand new film adaptation of the Tony & Grammy winning smash hit In The Heights along with the Grand Re-Opening of the all new Drama Book Shop at its new 39th Street home. Both of these exciting events all have to do with an unforgettable genius by the name of Lin-Manuel Miranda.

IN THE HEIGHTS ON BROADWAY

We are almost a week away from the highly anticipated release of the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s Tony and Grammy breakout debut musical In The Heights. This new film (directed by Jon M. Chu) was filmed on location in the actual location where the story takes place……. EN WASHINGTON HEIGHTS.

However, it was not the first time IN THE HEIGHTS was shot on location in the BARRIO. When the musical was gearing up for its Broadway debut, Miranda and the original cast filmed a 30 second TV commercial there.. Check out that original promo below featuring…..
