Billy Porter Will Release Autobiography, UNPROTECTED, This Fall

BREAKING NEWS: Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner Billy Porter is officially set to release his memoir UNPROTECTED this Fall. The new book will hit the shelves beginning October 19th, 2021 from Abrams Press.

The Kinky Boots and Pose start mentioned the release of his book during a couple of recent press interviews after coming out about being HIV Positive for the past 14 years. UNPROTECTED will feature a powerful and revealing story of race, sexuality, art, and healing. It follows Porter’s dark journey growing up in Pittsburgh, PA where being yourself was very rough from being bullied in school, getting sexually abused by his stepfather, and denounced by his church. He also talks of the experiences of hiding from his peers the 14 years of being HIV positive. Along the way, you will discover that even in those hard times, Billy Porter’s unbelievable talent began to shine as an actor, singer, playwright, director, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and being a fashion gay icon.

ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME Sets Pre-Broadway World Premiere For Washington, DC in November

DON’T YOU KNOW I STILL BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL BE HERE AND GIVE ME A SIGN!! It has just been announced that the new Britney Spears jukebox musical Once Upon a One More Time has officially rescheduled its world premiere debut this Fall.

Under the direction and choreography by Keone & Mari Madrid, it will now have its premiere out-of-town tryout in our nation’s Capitol of Washington D.C. playing the Sidney Harman Hall at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. The run is set for November 30th, 2021 through January 2nd, 2022.

Billy Porter Opens Up About His HIV-Positive Diagnosis for the First Time

Last week, Tony and Emmy Award winner Billy Porter opened up that for the past 14 years, he has been HIV Positive. The Kinky Boots and Pose star was diagnosed originally in 2007 keeping it secret from the public. Check out the article below about Billy’s experience.

The versatile performer is also in the works of coming out with his first memoir out this Fall. In addition, he is aiming plans to return to Broadway soon.

Hadestown Musicians Pledge to Make Onstage Band More Equitable and Inclusive | TheaterMania

BREAKING NEWS: In preparing for its return, the onstage band for the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit Hadestown are promising to have more of an inclusiveness of all musicians. All of this comes from many stories that have been going on within the past year in support of BIPOC and diversity.

As previously announced, HADESTOWN will relaunch its Broadway production at the Walter Kerr Theatre beginning September 2nd, 2021. A US National Tour is set to kick off this Fall. In addition, a Korean company is set to debut in Seoul this August.
